Founded in 1845 by Luigi Pizzagalli, Acetificio Brivio emerged from his insatiable curiosity, passion, and hard work. After years of apprenticeship with the marquess of Albese con Cassano, Luigi established the vinegar factory, which has been passed down through generations. In 1935, Giovanni Pizzagalli, Luigi’s grandson, relocated the production from Calco to Cicognola di Merate, where the company remains today. This transition also marked the renaming of the vinegar factory to Brivio, honoring Carlo Brivio, Luigi’s son-in-law, who brought his own zeal and dedication to the business.
Today, young Alessandro Carozzi, Carlo Brivio’s nephew, continues the legacy, guiding the company into the 21st century while adhering to the foundational values set by Luigi Pizzagalli. Acetificio Brivio is built on meticulous control of raw materials and quality manufacturing processes, ensuring that the finished products embody the highest standards of excellence. The company’s enduring commitment to a centuries-old tradition, along with a family history that has made vinegar a hallmark of its identity, underscores the unique guarantee of quality across the product range.
